We had Trunk or Treat at our ward for Halloween. I am not the biggest Halloween person, but the children enjoyed every minute of it. My sweet William for months has been telling me he wants to be the Phantom of the Opera and so we found a mask, put his church clothes on and voilla! Cheyenne was a bumble bee and kept her hood on all night. They were so fun and cute!

October Bdays
Shout out to my hubby, it's his birthday today! We had a birthday weekend, he got to pick out his presents and went to lunch but mostly just spent time together.
He is getting on the older side (early 40's) but I think having young children keeps him young at heart.
I appreciate him and all that he does for his family.
William said "Happy Birthday dad, you are a great horse, can I have a rope?
Cheyenne didn't say much just gave him a kiss and clapped when we sang Happy birthday to him on Sunday!
October is a great month for birthdays! The two oldest women in my life celebrate. Both my grandma's that have passed away celebrate Oct 26 Grandma Mazie and Oct 31st Grandma FeFe. They were such wonderful women and great examples to me. I was very close to my Grandma Mazie since she lived with my family over 20years of my life. I still tell stories to my kids about what granny Mazie would do for us kids. My granny Mazie never got to meet my children but Grandma FeFe got to know each of my children before she passed away. I am so grateful that William and Cheyenne got to see and talk with Fefe. I loved going to her little house in Mesa, it was such a great play place. Both these women were such great influences in my life and I miss and love them both so much!

Labor Day
Sunday night Cheyenne wasn't feeling well, Steve and I were up every two hours with her. Maternal instict told me that she had an ear infection. I was able to take her to the urgent care on Monday and sure enough two ear infections and strep throat. She was put on a heavy dose of antibiotics. So we kept Labor day low key. My mom invited us over for hamburger/hot dogs and swimming. William loves to see his cousins and go swimming with his Bumpa so we headed over about 4pm. I blew up water balloons for the kids to throw, William swam and had the time of his life throwing balloons at his older cousins. I asked him what his favorite part of the day was and he said swimming with my best friend and throwing a balloon at Meghan. I love that he is not hard to please. It was nice for me not to have to worry about dinner either. Overall it turned out to be a good day. Cheyenne started feeling better and even chowed down on a hotdog too.

My great deal!
I don't like to draw attention to myself and I don't like to brag. I really love saving money when I go to the grocery store though. Even at a young age I was taught by my mom to save. I shop the clearance isles, I never pay retail for anything, other than Steve's jeans (Wranglers). I love, love, love to find good deals. I won't pay someone else to find a deal for me. So let me break it down to you. Fry's is doing Buy 10 get $5 off. Last night was the final night for the week sales. Got my coupons and headed to the store.
This is what I got:
1 gallon milk
2 taco shells
2 toaster struedel
2 cookie mixes
1 go-gurt
2 fruit snacks
2 crescent rolls
2 grand buscuits
1 bag of steamers veg
3 progressive soup
1 loaf bread
1 granola bar
2 warm delight brownies (1 not pictured someone ate before I got picture)
I spent $12.80, that's right 78% savings. Before I had children I breathed, ate, slept good deals now I spend 1 day a week with my coupons and ads to make sure I get the best deal I can. I average $200 a month on grocery's. This includes snacks and meals for all my daycare kids. I am very proud of the job that I do to save my family as much as I can.

I'm going there someday!
Our ward had their Primary Activity Day at the Temple this morning. William has been talking about it all week. He woke up this morning saying "I get to go to the temple" Yeah!. We took a tour of the visitor's center and then I let him walk the grounds for awhile afterwards. Our ward gave each child a plaque with the temple modge podge on a black frame. It was a wonderful experience for William and the missionaries that led the tour were so wonderful. I love being a member of the church and it has gotten William more excited to go to church. On the way home he asked me several questions about why Jesus died for us? and when he see's Jesus again he wondered if he could give him a hug. I love the innocense of little children.

Family Campout.
Our family went on their annual camping trip this last weekend. It's not my favorite thing to do but I think it is so important to instill this tradition for my children. Both William and Cheyenne enjoyed it so much. I remember going every year with my family. I don't know how my parents did it for a whole week with 6 kids, one vehicle, one suitcase each. I am up to my ears in laundry just from two kids and a husband.
I am so glad that my dad and mom took us camping and let us experience the outdoors. Several of our old ward families attended and that was fun to see how each of their families have grown. My dad is such a trooper, William didn't have many kids his age there so he tried to join most of the older kids. When the older kids didn't want to play any longer my dad stepped up and played games and chased him.
We also went down to the creek at least once a day and both the kids loved it. It was freezing but both Cheyenne and William would jump right in and play. Cheyenne tried to sit in it several times, I was so afraid they would catch a cold but so far so good. We are glad to be home with the cool air conditioning but will miss that cool nights and outdoor smells. Till next year!
