Christmas Morning

It is so wonderful having little children. Opening presents is so much fun. William was so excited for each and every gift that he recieved. Annie didn't know what to think but wanted to play with Williams toys once they were unwrapped. Steve kept giving her a gift and she would give it back to him, it was so funny. It is such a joy to have these two sweet babies. I love them more and more each day.

Merry Christmas

Didn't get a chance to send out Christmas cards this year so I thought I would compose a Christmas letter on my blog to read!

Mom(Me)-I am at home with William and Cheyenne aka: Annie and currently watching several other children. I serve in the Primary as the Chorister and love teaching the children of our ward new exciting songs about Jesus and the gospel. My greatest joy is watching my children grow and learn daily. I love being a mom and treasure the time I get to spend with both William and Annie. I am grateful for the gospel and the sacrifice of Jesus on my behalf. My family is my most prized possesion. I love my Mom and Dad and all that they do for me on a daily basis.

Steve- Is currently working for Bank of America as a Business Analyst. He loves his job and loves to play with his children. He is currently serving as the 1st counselor in the Sunday School Presidency. He is busy keeping the front and back yards landscaped and clean and loves to play with William and Annie. He is a good father and husband and I am grateful to have him.

William- He just turned 4. He is getting so big and smart. He says the funniest things and is starting to help me more around the house with little chores. He just got his own room and is such a big boy. He keeps me going with his energy. I love being his mom and friend. He still gives me kisses and hugs and loves to wink at me.

Cheyenne aka Annie- She is 20 months and really keeps me going. She is into everything I really can't turn my back on her. She loves to run and jump and love on her brother. She is becoming such a girl and likes to wear my shoes and carry purses around. She has a sweet personality and loves to babble all the time. She also loves to carry the phone around and talk to the air.

Our greatest joy is being parents and belonging to the Church, it has helped us in many ways throughout this year. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas.

The Nelson Family.

Halloween!

We had Trunk or Treat at our ward for Halloween. I am not the biggest Halloween person, but the children enjoyed every minute of it. My sweet William for months has been telling me he wants to be the Phantom of the Opera and so we found a mask, put his church clothes on and voilla! Cheyenne was a bumble bee and kept her hood on all night. They were so fun and cute!

October Bdays

Shout out to my hubby, it's his birthday today! We had a birthday weekend, he got to pick out his presents and went to lunch but mostly just spent time together.

He is getting on the older side (early 40's) but I think having young children keeps him young at heart.

I appreciate him and all that he does for his family.

William said "Happy Birthday dad, you are a great horse, can I have a rope?

Cheyenne didn't say much just gave him a kiss and clapped when we sang Happy birthday to him on Sunday!

October is a great month for birthdays! The two oldest women in my life celebrate. Both my grandma's that have passed away celebrate Oct 26 Grandma Mazie and Oct 31st Grandma FeFe. They were such wonderful women and great examples to me. I was very close to my Grandma Mazie since she lived with my family over 20years of my life. I still tell stories to my kids about what granny Mazie would do for us kids. My granny Mazie never got to meet my children but Grandma FeFe got to know each of my children before she passed away. I am so grateful that William and Cheyenne got to see and talk with Fefe. I loved going to her little house in Mesa, it was such a great play place. Both these women were such great influences in my life and I miss and love them both so much!

See what happens!

So I had to go to the bathroom, this is what happens in a matter of 10min. I guess sometimes it's a good thing if they want to follow you to the bathroom right?

Labor Day

Sunday night Cheyenne wasn't feeling well, Steve and I were up every two hours with her. Maternal instict told me that she had an ear infection. I was able to take her to the urgent care on Monday and sure enough two ear infections and strep throat. She was put on a heavy dose of antibiotics. So we kept Labor day low key. My mom invited us over for hamburger/hot dogs and swimming. William loves to see his cousins and go swimming with his Bumpa so we headed over about 4pm. I blew up water balloons for the kids to throw, William swam and had the time of his life throwing balloons at his older cousins. I asked him what his favorite part of the day was and he said swimming with my best friend and throwing a balloon at Meghan. I love that he is not hard to please. It was nice for me not to have to worry about dinner either. Overall it turned out to be a good day. Cheyenne started feeling better and even chowed down on a hotdog too.

My great deal!

I don't like to draw attention to myself and I don't like to brag. I really love saving money when I go to the grocery store though. Even at a young age I was taught by my mom to save. I shop the clearance isles, I never pay retail for anything, other than Steve's jeans (Wranglers). I love, love, love to find good deals. I won't pay someone else to find a deal for me. So let me break it down to you. Fry's is doing Buy 10 get $5 off. Last night was the final night for the week sales. Got my coupons and headed to the store.

This is what I got:

1 gallon milk

2 taco shells

2 toaster struedel

2 cookie mixes

1 go-gurt

2 fruit snacks

2 crescent rolls

2 grand buscuits

1 bag of steamers veg

3 progressive soup

1 loaf bread

1 granola bar

2 warm delight brownies (1 not pictured someone ate before I got picture)

I spent $12.80, that's right 78% savings. Before I had children I breathed, ate, slept good deals now I spend 1 day a week with my coupons and ads to make sure I get the best deal I can. I average $200 a month on grocery's. This includes snacks and meals for all my daycare kids. I am very proud of the job that I do to save my family as much as I can.

I'm going there someday!

Our ward had their Primary Activity Day at the Temple this morning. William has been talking about it all week. He woke up this morning saying "I get to go to the temple" Yeah!. We took a tour of the visitor's center and then I let him walk the grounds for awhile afterwards. Our ward gave each child a plaque with the temple modge podge on a black frame. It was a wonderful experience for William and the missionaries that led the tour were so wonderful. I love being a member of the church and it has gotten William more excited to go to church. On the way home he asked me several questions about why Jesus died for us? and when he see's Jesus again he wondered if he could give him a hug. I love the innocense of little children.

Family Campout.

Our family went on their annual camping trip this last weekend. It's not my favorite thing to do but I think it is so important to instill this tradition for my children. Both William and Cheyenne enjoyed it so much. I remember going every year with my family. I don't know how my parents did it for a whole week with 6 kids, one vehicle, one suitcase each. I am up to my ears in laundry just from two kids and a husband.

I am so glad that my dad and mom took us camping and let us experience the outdoors. Several of our old ward families attended and that was fun to see how each of their families have grown. My dad is such a trooper, William didn't have many kids his age there so he tried to join most of the older kids. When the older kids didn't want to play any longer my dad stepped up and played games and chased him.

We also went down to the creek at least once a day and both the kids loved it. It was freezing but both Cheyenne and William would jump right in and play. Cheyenne tried to sit in it several times, I was so afraid they would catch a cold but so far so good. We are glad to be home with the cool air conditioning but will miss that cool nights and outdoor smells. Till next year!

I think your a great dad because you take good care of your kids and you love and adore them.

Hey Boompa, William and Cheyenne adore you. I am so glad that you are my dad. You have always been so patient and kind to each of your children. I love and appreciate your example to me and my children.

Belated Mothers Day

I have some of the greatest friends. I met these girls over 10 years ago in the Lambda Delta Sigma (LDS) sorrority at MCC. I was attending Chandler/Gilbert CC but a friend of my Glover told me about RUSH at MCC. We have celebrated Weddings, Births and a Death of a dear friend but at least twice a year we all get together and have a party. Boy do my friends know how to throw a party. Our 12hr tour began at noon on Saturday. We met for lunch and then proceeded to the Mesa Cemetary where our dear friend Amy Mac Denton is buried. We ussually visit her grave on her birthday but decided to change it up since Mothers day is so much nicer. Some of the girls had manicures, ped, and even a bikini wax was done. We had dinner, talked about the fun we used to have and just loved on eachother. I love to get together with my Sorrority Sisters.

Memorial Day

I haven't blogged for awhile and need to catch up, We went to my Mom/Dad for a BBQ and swim. This was Cheyenne's first real experience in the pool and she loved it. My little bro and his family are back for the summer and my William and their Jace love eachother so they got their play on. It's great no matter how old my nephew's and niece's are they all still play with one another.

Shout Out!

Happy Birthday to Boompa, My dad has become William's best friend. Even though he is getting up in age he still wrestles and plays cowboys, bullrider and bad guys. Ever since I was small I knew that my dad was someone I could count on. He is a gentle man, never losing his temper and always made me and my siblings feel loved. I appreciate all that he does for me and my family. He is the greatest man I know.

Easter

Our Easter started out with eggs all over the house and a delicious breakfast. The kids looked so cute for Easter, Cheyenne had a blow out just after Sacrament meeting and got pooh all over her dad's shirt and her dress. We went to some friends house for a wonderful Easter Ham and rushed home so that I could make it to our Stake Easter Concert. I had the opportunity to direct the childrens choir. It was a very spiritual night and the children did wonderfully. I love Easter when we celebrate the resurection of Jesus. It has been a challenge teaching William about it, he doesn't comprehend the cross but I know with time and years he will grasp it. Happy Easter to everyone.

Our little Miracle

Having children with me is always a surprise. William was supposed to be Reagan (Surprise) and my little Cheyenne came a little too early. Cheyenne has brought so much joy into our lives. She has been such a wonderful baby since we have brought her home.

My water broke on Thursday and the hospital according to their calculations stated that I was only 28 weeks and that they couldn't deliver my baby. I was airlifted to Good Sam and laid in bed until the following Tuesday when Cheyenne was tired of waiting and came into this world. She was born at 2:22am weighing 3lbs 5oz and 18in long. We love our "Annie". This has been a great 1st year and her brother is just crazy about her. Happy Birthday big girl.

Sickness and Blessings

Yesterday William came down with a bug, he vomitted constantly. I thought since he had been coughing for over a week that he was coming down with Pnemonia, maybe. I got an appt with the Doctor and my Mother came to help with the other kids (Since I do daycare, it's never just the kids and me, occasionally I do get a Friday off though) I am so grateful to have a mom that lives close and is retired. More than that she is always willing to help. My mom and dad have people visiting their home often but they always come to my rescue. My mom has a saying on her notebook at home (She is in the RS Presidency and Dad is in the Stake Presidency) that says Convienence is never Service, Service is never Convienence. I don't know what I would do if I didn't live near my mom. I am so grateful for her help, love and support. She truly is my best friend and I am so glad that she is my mom. William is back to his usual self, jumping around, but one of my daycare kids vommited on the way into the house today, here we go again.

Oh what do we do in the Winter Time in AZ?

Oh what do you do in the winter time?
When it's 80 degrees
You ride to the park,
Run in the sprinklers,
And have a blast.

A day at the Farm!

William has been bugging me for weeks to go to my brother Kyle's house to see the chickens so we went today, he was so excited to help but upset when we had to leave.

With Previous Post

My dear Grandma FeFe

My Grandma FeFe is 89years old and her health is not so good, I took the kids to see her a couple weeks ago and we took some pictures at her bedside. I have such fond memories of spending time with my Grandma and Grandpa FeFe at their home on Drew St in Mesa. They were always so kind and loving and raised my Dad to be a wonderful man/father and son. My grandma is very strong and I love her so much.

William loves to see Mr. Elephant

I love his smile, he is so excited to go on an adventure.

The Tiger growled at us and Zach and William thought that was the coolest.

This is the first animal we encountered when going to the zoo, The kids were so excited to see them and William was amazed at how tall they are. The kids had an awesome time.
